Reading My Meter

orangeville hydro customer services

How do I read my hydro meter?

The meter that is installed on your home measures how much energy is being used and when the energy is being used. Energy consumption is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh). Your meter measures and displays the total number of kWhs that has passed through the meter.

Smart meters have been installed since 2009. In that time there have been 3 versions of smart meters installed by Orangeville Hydro. Although the way the energy is measured hasn’t changed, there has been some changes to the data that is displayed on the meter.

How do I read my water meter?

The water meter measures the volume of water that goes into your home in cubic meters. Regardless of how the water is used (i.e running a bath or a water leak) the meter cannot distinguish between the two. As a result, any water that runs through the meter is considered used.

Your water meter will like one of the two images below. Simply provide the numbers listed on the face of the water meter.
